3D Dictionary

January 17, 1997

Carrying on with the theme from our previous section, here is a site that all of us can use from time to time. One of the worst things about being new on the Net is learning all of the jargon that goes with it. Until you do, you can stay pretty lost when talking or sending out emails. Well, the 3D Dictionary site will take care of all of those terms you're confused by or want to learn.

Do you ever wonder what an algorithm is or what artificial intelligence is? How about lossless compression? Or how about a passive matrix screen? 3D Dictionary will end the confusion with clear concise definitions. Check out their really nice site at:

This site is really worth bookmarking for future reference. I still use it on occasion. Yes, there are still a few terms out there that even I don't know.

And now for the final section of this week's column, click on the "NEXT" button below. This is where the Net can "shine" if given the opportunity.
