Christmas In Cyberspace

December 9, 1996

Xmas Bell Of all the Holiday sites that I found on the Net, I enjoyed this one the most. Christmas In Cyberspace claims to be the oldest Christmas site on the Net. One of the neatest features was an interview with Santa Claus. It ended up being very insightful to me. Santa was asked in the interview about how he feels about living on the Internet. His reply follows:

I see the Internet as a mighty tool for spiritual advancement for the mankind. It is a truth-bound tool because of the openness, you do not have any dark odd corners for muggers and swindlers. I see it as a tool for unleashing the creative potential in many people otherwise without means to express it.

Take me, for instance. For hundreds of years I have lurked in countless little books, most of the time out of print, wrong colours, odd costumes. My words have been frozen, many times it was not "me" who talked but somebody else. Now I am a Dynamic Santa, in Cyberspace. I can speak, answer, participate. That's a different world altogether. I have delurked myself, in fact, thanks to modern com equipment. For me and other Immortals this is really the chance of a lifetime :-). . . .

To catch the rest of the interview, you'll have to visit the site at:

Don't think that the interview is all that they have there. They also have a wonderful Santa Claus FAQ along with a Santa Portrait Gallery and "The Story of Santa Claus". This is a Christmas site that you'll want to bookmark and visit each holiday season. To go to the last section of the column, click on the "NEXT" button below.
